_" One of Boston's primary punk bands, DMZ was led by the maniacal Mono Mann (aka Jeff Conolly, later of the Lyres), an organist/singer whose '60s roots (garage punk and psychedelia) and Iggy Pop fixation formed the basis for the group's influential stylings. Their first album, produced by Flo and Eddie, has bad sound, sloppy playing and little character, despite the raveup playing and general enthusiasm... Anyone that can do justice to a Roky Erickson number (as in the 13th Floor Elevators' "You're Gonna Miss Me") is alright by me...The two 1986 releases — recorded at a single June 1978 club date — document the DMZ concert experience. One is a full-length LP; the other is a supplementary (no overlap) four-track 7-inch that covers both the Chocolate Watch Band and the Beatles." Ira Robbins from Trouser Press

_ In the 80's the New York lower east side noise scene was set on it's ear by DC-transplants Pussy Galore. Their bass less, treble kicking roar fused rockabilly and garage rock styles with atonal white noise and fractured song structure. Their sound was hard, brutal and intrusive. They were what real rock n' roll was all about - sex, volume and attitude. They made music that even by todays standards would bum a youngster's parents out - always a good thing. _ " Trash Rock Sonic Superstars
After laying down the hardest kung fu kicker of an album to be heard in 1995, King Loser have cemented their reputation as the wildest rock band traversing the fertile musical terrain of New Zealand since the Pretty Things toured here in '65. King Loser are truly a take no prisoners band with a primal attitude powered by voodoo beats and a penchant for onstage antics like flaming cymbals and 'fu demonstrations.
You Cannot Kill What Does Not Live offer up a frightening cocktail of swinging beats and wild guitar with driving organ to kick things along where they need it most. From surf instrumentals to psychedelia to rawk, King Loser always play the suave cards in the musical deck. Guitarist Chris Heazlewood and Celia on keyboards and bass front the band, sharing vocal duties like Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood in a nasty mood. Behind them, guitarist Sean O'Reilly bends the sound out there while drummer Tribal Thunder holds it down. In 1995 they wowed New Zealand and Australia... in 1996, the rest of the world is surely in danger! "
